Class Info
What to Bring to Class
- A bottle of water to rehydrate
- socks or dance jiffies
- An open heart and a warm smile to embrace the journey.
- A shimmy belt (if you don’t have one Julz will have one you can borrow for the first class , or you can purchase one from Julz for the remaining term next week )
What to leave behind!
What I love about Belly dancing is the beautiful nurturing sisterhood this dance creates. For this to happen, we need to be loving and kind to ourselves and those around us. I ask you to please come with an open heart and to leave judgment of your self and of others behind.

What to Wear
- Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that doesn't restrict your movement. Dance pants, gym pants, yoga pants orleggings are recommended for the bottom half so that I can see what your legs and knees are doing. Avoid jeans and skirts.
- For the top half, t-shirts or singlets - you don't have to bare your tummy!
- For belly dancing bare feet are fine, but bring along some socks, jiffies or ballet slippers for turns and for when it's cold.
- A hip scarf or coin belt, anything you can tie around your hips is good. I will have a shimmy belt you can borrow for the first week of class or they can be purchased in class from week 2 ( Price range $15-$35)
- This class is an opportunity to express yourself in ways that you might not in your everyday life, so please feel free to dress up as much or little as you would like.
